A BETTER WAY OF LEARNING FINDS INTERNET A BETTER WAY OF MARKETING

August 19, 1999

"Phonics Game" creator A Better Way of Learning Inc. hit the Internet Wednesday to make its educational games and toys easier for teachers and parents to find. The company changed its name to Games2Learn Inc. and launched a new web site by the same name -- Games2Learn.com -- to offer more than 1,000 educational products for sale.

Following the motto "products that make learning fun," Games2Learn.com is designed to also act as a web "portal," or jumping off point for students, parents and teachers to find other information available on the Internet. The site was designed by educators to address general education topics including Reading, Math, Logical Thinking, Spatial Learning, General Knowledge, Creativity, Science and Technology. While the site does not specifically designate any pages for items appropriate for special education, the company expects to draw attention from special ed. teachers and paraprofessionals that have already tested its products for students with disabilities.

"We know that the special education teachers within the schools are usually the first to use our products," Games2Learn spokeswoman Marge Osborn said. "We have many letters from teachers and parents stating that our products have worked for their students with special education needs."

Games2Learn.com features educational games, tapes, CD-ROMs, electronic products, science kits, flash cards, activity sets, educational books, music and nature products. Well-known titles include "The Phonics Game" and the "GeoSafari Talking Globe." The company plans to add an online reading room for kids, which will feature audio versions of popular children's books, and it already has a game room with interactive phonics, vocabulary, math, history and geography games. The site also has a page where parents and teachers can learn take a short quiz to find out more about a child's personality type and the best learning environment for him or her.8
